Hello!
Hello and welcome! My name is Jessica and my goal for this blog is to help you feel the joy of learning more about your family history. I believe that genealogy research doesn’t have to be overwhelming. It should be a fun journey full of learning, from new research strategies and resources to discovering more about who your ancestors were as people to learning about the time period they lived in.
I’ve had the honor and pleasure of helping people with their genealogy for many years. I’m going to be sharing the same resources and strategies that I use in my own genealogy work with you to help you feel less overwhelmed with your research. I want you to feel empowered to set your family research goals and meet them!
I started researching my family history about 20 years ago. For many of those years, I worked in nonprofit fundraising, doing my own genealogy and helping others during my free time. It was good work, but I never felt like I truly making an impact.
I decided to make a huge life change and begin helping people with genealogy professionally. It was scary to leave a longtime career and try something new, but it has been an incredibly rewarding experience and I look forward to helping new people every day.
I’d love to hear from you what types of content you’d like to see on this blog. Maybe location-specific resources (US or international) or roundups of genealogy news? How-tos? Reviews of things like family tree software or genealogy books? Please share in the comments, or feel free to email me directly!
